برنامج AOL Instant Messenger إمكانية التحدث عبر الماسنجر حتى إن لم تكن عضوًا في خدمات أمريكا أون لاين. ويتيح البرنامج لمستخدمي الإنترنت إمكانية الاتصال من خلال إرسال رسائل نصية خاصة وكذلك يوضح لك إن كان أحد أصدقائك أو أفراد أسرتك أو زملائك متصلا بالإنترنت. ويشتمل البرنامج على ميزات قائمة "AOL's Buddy List" والرسائل الفورية. وتمكّن المستخدمين من إرسال الرسائل و الرد على الرسائل. بالإضافة إلى العديد من الخصائص وإمكانات المحادثات والاطلاع على الأخبار. إلى جانب إمكانية إرسال تحية من قائمتك أو إرسال محتويات القائمة كما يمكنك إعداد ألبوم من الصور الرقمية وإطلاع أصدقائك عليها



AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) is a instant messaging and presence computer program which uses the proprietary OSCAR instant messaging protocol and the TOC protocol to allow registered users to communicate in real time. It was released by AOL in May 1997. Stand-alone official AIM client software includes advertisements and is available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Mac OS X, and Linux. The software, maintained by AOL, LLC, has a large share of the instant messaging market, especially in the United States (with 52% of the total reported as of 2006). AIM service is a free online service that lets you communicate with family, friends and co-workers in real time. Using the AIM Buddy ListВ® feature you can see when your buddies are online and available to instant message.
